Hello!

  • Significance

In the book, Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Patrick Lencioni states that the foundation of a team is built on trust; however, the only way to have trust is to believe that you can be vulnerable with those around you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”

    Proverbs 3:5-6

In the sermon I heard today, our pastor brought the idea of our wanting to be significant. In that desire, we often become prideful. The danger in our lack of humbleness is that we no longer become vulnerable to God and our trust in Him is lost.

We often feel anxious with our choice to feed our ego instead of trusting in God and leaning on His will, which I am guilty of. In all things we do in life, let us always be vulnerable to God and willing to lower our need to be significant outside of Him.

  • Distractions

Heard a sermon today at our church about distractions. Sometimes we become to focused on what is urgent instead of what is important. The small mundane urgencies can take us away from building better relationships with our kids or our community. I know I am guilty of always thinking about the wallet and wanting to provide (we still need to provide.

β€œYou will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”

    Winston S. Churchill

As for now, I will start reminding my self that tomorrow is not guaranteed and to make sure what I think is urgent is aligned with what is important.
